1200 telescopes observing a quarter of the sky every second
The Argus Array’s 1200 telescopes work together to form an 8m-class telescope imaging the entire accessible sky simultaneously. The Array will take millions of 120-gigapixel images to build the first deep, high-speed movie of the Northern sky, discovering and following cosmic events as they happen.
The Array’s view across a single night; the red outline marks the area the Array is watching at any moment. As Earth rotates, this view sweeps across the sky. By morning, the Array has observed nearly the entire Northern sky, watching each region for hours. Night after night, this builds up deep exposure across vast stretches of sky, while catching fast events within seconds or minutes.
